About the Album
I always loved hymns. My mom told me that the first song I ever sang as a toddler was the hymn "Come Thou Fount." I grew up hearing my mom and my dad singing hymns. Therefore, hymns are in a special part of my heart. They remind me of my Christian roots (my faithful parents, my grandmother who prayed for me dearly), all the churches I served at, and all the congregations I sang these songs with.
I am honored to share my favorite hymns with you through this album. As you listen to these hymns, I hope you are reminded of the many faithful Christians in the past and present, in near and far, and in the local church as well as the global church; and that we are worshipping our Lord together.

About the Album
Brokenness. Trials. Pain.
Several years ago, I was shattered into pieces and all I could see was the brokenness in me. As I cried out to God, then surrendered my brokenness to Him, He started healing me. He molded my seemingly unrestorable pieces into something I didn't think I would ever be, a beautiful vessel. So though I am still being broken, though trials still come everyday, though the pain never seems to fade... I can live another day because I see His Beauty. And this is the reason I can sing praises to Him once again: He creates in me Beauty out of Brokenness.
Each song in this album is deeply personal to me;
I pray that my songs will encourage you, especially those who are feeling broken and going through sufferings. Remember that God is with you always, that He will use the pain and brokenness to draw you near to Him, and that He is the “God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” (2 Cor. 1:4)

"Every word of this song was poured out from my heart and my painful past; it is my story in every way. I went through a lot of broken relationships and, through it all, was shattered into pieces. But only after a time of deep brokenness was I able to see the True Beauty that was in me: Christ (2 Cor. 4:7-11). For though there is nothing beautiful about me, His beauty shines through me." - Esther Shin Chuang
Broken I stand before You,
Humbled at your feet.
I fall to my knees,
Before Your throne,
in beautiful surrender.
Shattered I run towards You,
Pieces all of me,
Falling at Your feet.
The weight of my heart,
Before Your throne,
In beautiful surrender.
You wipe every tear I cry.
You comfort in my darkest night
You turned my darkness into light.
Shattered and weak,
Yet You create in me
Beauty Out of Brokenness
Lord, You raise me from ashes,
Consumed in Your love.
My heart seeks Your face,
Compelled by hope,
In beautiful surrender.
You lift me from the miry clay,
To a place of rest and peace.
I look to You,
Compelled by hope,
In beautiful surrender.
In my brokenness,
You draw me near.
In my weakness,
You make me strong.
In my brokenness,
I will not fear
‘Cause in my weakness
I know you’re strong.
Through pain,
You bring forth Your beauty in me,
With healing,
My soul knows grace and mercy.

"Each time I realize that I am so weak, so sinful, and so broken, I feel very unworthy of coming before God. And that is when I experience God’s grace. He shows me His grace; and only by His amazing grace am I able to come before His throne (Hebrews 4:16)! I sang one verse in Korean as a tribute to my father, whose favorite hymn is Amazing Grace." - Esther Shin Chuang
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Grace flows down from my Savior’s crown;
Oh the richness of His glorious grace He lavished on me.
Grace flows down from my Savior’s crown;
Oh the richness of His glorious grace He lavished on me.
나 같은 죄인 살리신 주 은혜 놀라와
잃었던 생명 찾았고 광명을 얻었네
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures
One Step at a Time

"A year ago, as I started thinking about my uncertain future, I had many fears. I didn’t know where I would be or what I would be doing; I was worried about not knowing what my future would look like. Then I realized that God never shows us the full picture, but He does show us the next step to take. Perhaps if He shows us the full picture we would not fully rely on Him. All He asks us to do is to follow Him and take one step at a time." - Esther Shin Chuang
All I see is fog,
A mist that covers my eyes
I cannot see ahead
I am so afraid
I don’t know what is ahead
I can’t see my future
I can’t see my tomorrow,
What lies ahead.
But God doesn't show us the whole map,
He is our perfect, perfect Guide.
He will lead us step by step
He will guide us faithfully.
So follow Him the perfect guide,
One step at a time.
That's all we need to do,
That' s all the faith we need,
One step at a time
All I saw was fog,
A mist full of uncertainties
Or that's how it seemed until I realized that it was
His glorious presence guiding me.
He was so close to me
That I couldn't see anything else ahead
I couldn’t see my future
Or predict my tomorrow
What lies ahead.
One day I will follow His footsteps
And arrive at the gate of heaven
Where there are no mysteries
No fears no tears no pain
Until then I will follow Him,
One step at a time.
That’s all I need to do
That's all the faith I need
One step at a time.
Kingdom of Heaven

"A few months ago my father was diagnosed with cancer. It was devastating news for our family and I remember being in so much pain that I didn’t even know how to cry out to God. In the midst of the pain and tears, the only hope I had was heaven: a place where there will be no more pain and death, a place where we will see God face to face, a place where there is perfect peace. This is the hope we Christians have, that the Kingdom of Heaven, our eternal home, is waiting for us." - Esther Shin Chuang
Somewhere beyond this earth
Where my soul longs to be
In Your presence
For all eternity
There will be no more pain
There will be no more death
Nor will there be mourning
Every tear wiped away
In the Kingdom of Heaven
I will see Your Face
I will be with You
In the midst of Your grace
In the Kingdom of Heaven
I will see Your Face
I will dwell with You
In Your arm's embrace
Escaping the pain of this life
Where all suffering shall cease
A city without sorrow
A place where I find peace
Where there is no more pain
Where there is no more death
Nor will there be mourning
Every tear wiped away
And I'm coming home
And I'm coming home
And I'm coming home
To be with You
Forever and ever
In the Kingdom of Heaven
When this life is through,
Always and forever
I will be with You.
In the Kingdom of Heaven
When this life is through,
I will be with You.

About the Album
As a musician, I am grateful for every opportunity to worship God with music! Whether I play the piano or sing, whether hymns or classical, the music I make expresses my love for God and my praises to Him. I began playing the piano when I was four years old, and ever since then, I wanted to be a great pianist, playing all over the world and glorifying God through music.
He has been so faithful in my life, leading me step by step, being my Perfect Guide. It is my joy to worship God and share His love through the great gift He has given me - music. I desire to be God's instrument in bringing all the nations into His presence, and I dream of that glorious day when people from every tribe and tongue will worship our living God together! Until then, I will keep running, keep making music, keep sharing, and keep praising God!
I want to thank God for His great love and faithfulness. Lord, You are my strength. I am truly grateful for my wonderful family who has always been my greatest supporters and who have faithfully prayed for me all my life, even before I was born; my great mentors and teachers; and my dear friends. Without your love and support, I would not have been able to make this journey.
